I’m happy to announce that the winner of the first tenkara rod giveaway ever at Casting Around is Kyle!
Kyle will be receiving a brand new Tenkara Times 1st Step 360 tenkara rod. Check out the rod review here and you can get one for yourself at The Tenkara Times.
Kyle’s winning poem was not a Haiku – but the judges (my kids, aged 10 and 12) both agreed that Kyle’s witty poem was funny and deserving in spite of being outside the limits of Haiku. In fact many of the others were also not Haikus either but the judges didn’t mind.
The judges wanted to say that they enjoyed reading all of the poems and that the decision was a tough one.
Here’s the winning verse:
Roses are red and violets are blue
May I win with a rhyme instead of a Haiku?
So I hope Kyle enjoys some good tenkara with the 1st Step 360 and maybe he’ll send in some pics of the fish that he catches with it – congratulations Kyle.
This rod giveaway was a blast to do – I’d love to do some more – I’ll have to see what I can come up with.
Congrats Kyle!
