Daily Fly Fishing Poem #19: Getting Lost After a Day of Fishing
Bushwhacking as dark descended,
we almost didn’t find the road.
He shook his head, and smiled
a little I think, when we told him
where we started.
“20 Miles by truck” he said,
as we climbed into the bed,
of his red pick-up.
Everyone wants transportation:
brief shimmers turned inside-out,
nothing but lint, burs stuck in laces,
bodies left breathless in bed.
