It seems that wet flies are always the hot new thing. They are like, good music, always being rediscovered by a new generation. I fall into the category of “Johnny-Come-Lately”. I certainly did not grow up fishing wet flies. I didn’t grow up fly fishing at all – I always fished (as long as I can remember anyway), but I was only converted to fly fishing while attending Penn State in the early 1990’s.
This page represents my discovery of classic wet flies. I’m only presenting flies that I have actually tied, tried and caught fish with – hopefullly this list will continue to grow – along with my interest in these classic flies.
Peruse the gallery below and click on the name to go to a post about the fly including a recipe to tie it.
