Go check out The Tenkara Shop recently opened by Jason Klass of Tenkara Talk. He’s offering the excellent Oni Rods designed by Japanese tenkara master Masami “Tenkara no Oni” Sakakibara. As well as the rods he’s got an assortment of very unique accessories such as line holders and fly boxes.
I’ve got a a Type I Oni rod – and it’s pretty darn nice. When one picks it up you immediately notice that it is surprisingly balanced in the hand, and it casts a long level line with ease. I need to get more time on the water with it and get a review posted.
