I got a package in the mail a few days ago and it was a welcome addition to my fly box of some Zazzypoppers. Well – I live much closer to decent warm-water fishing than I do to good trout fishing – but I spend most of my fishing life thinking about trout and trout streams. However, I know that I’d have more quality time on the water if I spent a little more time closer to home – less driving, more fishing. So I’m making an effort to hit the local ponds and warm-water creeks more often this summer. That’s where the Zazzypop poppers come in. The Zazzypop Website claims that they are the “Zazzyest Poppers on Earth” – and well…they are pretty zazzy. They’re beautiful poppers actually. These are “artisan” poppers. They’re one-of-a-kind, American made. I always love supporting small business – and Zazzypop is small business for sure.
Ah, but do they catch fish? Well I’m sure they do – but I didn’t get to test them yet. I’ll be giving them a go this weekend so I’ll let you know. I figured I’d post a picture of them now though because I lose flies like crazy, and once head out with them they may never be seen again.
