Daily Fly Fishing Poem #2: The Way of Forgetting

Clinger by Anthony Naples

Well because I got a late start on the month of poems, I thought I might try to put three poems out today, that way I’ll get on schedule. So here’s number two:

Poem #2: The Way of Forgetting

Crawling flatly through my hair,
like some huge clinging cahill nymph,
the skeleton of my fingers captures a thought,
but it slips through the spaces in my hand easily
and falls with a splash at my feet.
I slide my hat back on and squint against the Sun,
and search for rises.
